Barcelona is one of the world capitals of Modernism. Between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the city underwent a process of modernisation that transformed its urban planning and artistic expressions.
One of the most representative architects of that time was Antoni Gaudi (1852-1926), author of famous works such as the Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló, La Pedrera and Parque Güell, this park located in the upper part of the city. Everything at this park twists, waves and undulates, creating a magical atmosphere commanding spectacular views of Barcelona. There are no straight lines whatsoever.
Just a 5-minute walk from Hotel Barcelona Catedral is the Palau de la Música Catalana, one of the most important concert halls in the world. Lluis Domenech i Montaner was responsible for designing this majestic Modernist building. A stunning glass dome provides spectacular natural light inside.
